I'm not too familiar with the unique features of all your Lincoln Cents. I was wondering what a fair price would be for a 1937-P UNC/BU Lincoln Wheat Cent? Mintage: 309,170,000
Without details, the best one can give is an estimated price range. For a very generic BN "unc", you may be looking at a buck or two, but as with most coins, all depends on condition and in this case color. Obviously, a gem RD specimen would be worth many times that of the aforementioned.
i would say it depends on the coin you can pick one in BU for cheap like a few dollars, if it is red it might be worth 7-9 raw and if it is slabbed ms65 it would be closer to 15 dollars !!
That is the strangest thing, pricing on ebay is all over the map for RD UNC, from $1 to $12 for MS64... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1937-1C-RD-...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 http://www.ebay.com/itm/1937-LINCOL...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 http://www.ebay.com/itm/LINCOLN-WHE...40?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item1c381be988 Then it gets even more ridiculous. That mintage was huge, I just don't get it.
unless it is a very very nice example !! i got a 1935 for around 15 dollars pcgs slabbed Red ms65 and other dates in the 30s for a similar price slabbed !
Thanks, I'll stick to hunting for the nice $1 or $2 options... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1937-P-Linc...=&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
Absolutely not; there are a great many superb coins from this era residing outside of slabs as it simply does not make sense for anything short of a definite superb gem to be submitted. Perhaps you can find a raw stunner for that $10, or perhaps it will cost you $20 or more, but if you want something truly nice, don't limit yourself to a certain dollar amount, be it raw or slabbed. One thing to note, and this goes for most any slabbed RD copper, is that they can change in the slab while others are questionably designated, so it is necessary to judge for yourself instead of simply accepting the designation as fact. Of course with raw this goes without saying.
With such a high mintage, I think a nice UNC for a $1 or $2 is appropriate. There are people still sitting on rolls of these in UNC, GEM BU and high MS grades. If it changes colour in a slab, it will also change colour as raw.
If you find either coins under $2 that you linked to be sufficient, that's your choice; $1-$2 is perfectly acceptable for a generic unc. As for rolls, yes... they are out there, but original does not automatically equal a roll of gem or high MS coins. Yes, which is what I said.
