Still believe you have an old chipping or jack hammer bit. It could be the base for a highway sign post. But I still believe it’s a concrete chipping bit.

Does not matter, as long as you enjoyed your self digging them up. Wish Meow lived in a area where Meow could detect and dig up treasures too.

Shrews, are you planning on going into the scrap metal recycling business to support your hobby? Hope you had fun.

I just went back and read your post. I have a bad habit of skimming posts when I am in my office. You said the white pointed object was vertical in the ground. That tells me my second suspicion is most likely correct. It’s a sign post base.... I am like you. Anything that comes out of the ground is cool and has a story to tell.

Lol. You guys are good. I am impressed with your ambition digging these up! I suspect it may be an old base for a sign as well. Jack hammer bit was a good guess but I'd guess the smaller square shaft at the top is for a telespar to a sign to slip over. Google telespar and you'll recognize them right away. They're very commonly used. They're full of holes so that bolts can go through them at various heights for whatever height is needed. Signs have to resist a lot of wind so the base needs to be extremely strong.

The only base that had was pitching base. No other bases were there lol. But it was towards the edge of the grass. If it was i might have to put it back... The school was built in the sixties. It was more third base going home! Lol little past the third base.

In the middle of the city, of the youngest state in the union. Also concrete is a bit hard on the claws.

Nope, unfortunately not. I live in a big city and its near impossible to find a park to detect in. The rules and regulations here are insane.

I sometimes drive out of the city to some spots but I generally find that, unless on a private permission, local city / county laws are pretty tight.

Looks like a post for holding a base in place to me.
If it was buried vertical with the square peg sticking up, you may have just stole third base.

It was towards the edge the grass though. Wasn't in the rite spot for third base... It has to be though .... omg..I feel terrible.
