What happened to this 1982 cent?

I have no idea what happened to this 1982 Lincoln Cent.

I weighed it, checked in normal, but I am skeptical because of the silver on the rim.

Any ideas?

1982 was the first year of the zinc core, so it's probably just post-mint damage that exposed the zinc. Looks like it just has a lot of scum/residue on it.

Upon looking closer, it looks like it may have been spooned or the victim of a dryer.
