i need an expert for this malaysian 50c coins.what caused this "double denticles" and "denticle crack" on this two coins,anything to do with the die?is this common for the malaysian 50c coins?thanks
The "crack" may be a side effect of finning of the rim. That's caused by excessive striking pressure. Or it could be the result of a very slight misalignment of the die, which allows metal to squeeze past the design rim. The doubling of the denticles could be due to die jitter, which causes "machine doubling".
