I can buy this for 131 dollars, but I'm not sure about the grade. There are quite a few rim dings, and I'm not sure if this would go to a AU-50. Any opinions?
Rim nicks....a light cleaning but it has re-toned to brown....XF40 NETVF30....the lowest piece of hair seems to have more wear on it.... Speedy
You are correct from what I see, Old cleaning and re-browned, still all & all a sweet strike!, What has to be determind is the dumps & hole dents you see are (some) in fact from the plancid!!Those are exceptable for the grade(plancid defects) but dings ect.. are not and will down the coin in grade and any scratches that may be . I like the coin, if you can get it for EX-fine (cleaned) from the seller..
The rim nicks don't like like a defect on te planchet...I see one at the 1:00 and 2:00 o'clock place...and they both look like man made rim nicks. Speedy
Still all-in-all, great coin if it can be had at the right price. But remember your own words, "Its a cleaned coin!", and you will own it(maybe).you have to think, Is it worth the purchase $$??Me personaly would get it, cleaned or not, (right price).
The Greysheet has it at $100 in XF and $165 in AU. I would grade it AU-50 details net XF-40-cleaned-rim nicks. Charlie
Your correct, I was thinking in my mind the same, $100.00 should get it!,(shiping included).Ohhh,Ohhh, Speedy, you may have snagged that photo WITHOUT the owners permission!!!your goin to jail,do not pass go!, no get-out of jail card!. you photo snagger you!!, Hee,Heee. :kewl:
