What does this represent? Let's see who is knowledgeable in Paper Currency Oddities! I'm at work having my breakfast and just came up with this trivia question after I ate my banana (Yes I'm bored)
A read an article somewhere about people that collect the Chiquita banana stickers. Apparently they are a lot of "varieties". No clue why it is on a dollar bill though.
Yes! That was me.. I stuck the sticker on the Dollar Bill this morning. But it actually represents something cool
3 Hints. 1 - It's an Oddity found on a higher denomination. 2 - it's been mentioned somewhat here on CT 3 - It's been certified by PCGS
@lettow Correct! Del Monte Sticker on a $20.00 Bill Known as the Del Monte Note.. this error type is called a "retained obstruction." Some information - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Del_Monte_note
I had a coworker many years ago who was wearing a Banana Republic T-shirt that said Banana Republic in big letters on the front.. Someone seriously asked him "Oh, is that where you are from?" He became so mad. He told the person "No! I'm from Haiti" .. Some people are really dumb
Haiti.....Ecuador.....Guatemala.....They're all the same.....Banana Republic! What I'd like to know, Mr. P., is who was the monkey that put the Del Monte sticker on the sheet of paper in the first place.
I read that an BEP employee was probably eating a banana and when the Del Monte sticker came off it stuck to the sheet and then was printed over. He said "oh oh that's not good"
Isn't there another Del Monte banana sticker on on older bill from the 1970's? Or am I thinking of the Band Aid note?
