2 pence? What year? Seems like it's very recent and hence, slightly over 2 US cents. One ounce of silver is currently around U$8.90. Have a nice day.
Hello Veronica, Welcome to the forum. The silver bar is easy. An ounce of silver is worth the material it's made of. Right now, the spot price of silver is a shade under 9 bucks, so you can probably sell it for 8 pretty quickly. Beyond that, sometimes bars are worth more depending on who made it, and/or the artwork presented on the piece. The 2 pence can vary in market value a lot more. It can be worth very little if the year is not rare, or the condition is not high. A worn piece is worth much less than a piece in mint condition, or in the case of 2 pence 'proof-like'. So if you can post a picture of your coin, people can give more informed opinions on what that coin is worth. Hope that helps.
Great Britain 2 Pence (KM 885 or 899) - .9250 Silver with an Actual Silver Weight of 0.0280 oz. contains silver worth about $0.24. These are smaller than a US Dime. KM885 was produced in 1953 only and had a total mintage of 1,025 pieces. In Uncirculated Prooflike condition it lists in Krause for $85. KM899 was (and is) produced yearly from 1954. Mintages are less than 2,000 pieces yearly (1970 lists only 980 coins minted). In Uncirculated Prooflike they are listed at $20 to $22 with newer dates valued higher. NOTE: there are also bronze and copper-plated steel circulating coins in the 2 PENCE denomination. These are listed at 20 to 40 Cents in uncirculated condition. They are larger than a US quarter.
