Just wanted to get people feedback on this concept. I have some coins listed on ebay and want to cut cost for everyone. Thanks, Aaron edited
My post was deleted for some reason. But what I said was, this is not good for a customer because they are no longer provided wih ebays buyer protection program. I would be hesitant to purchase coins, especially gold ones, not knowing I was protected against fake or improperly described items.
I wholeheartedly agree! You may be as honest as the day is long, but I would look upon anyone selling as you have suggested as a shady character.
You also have the problem of how do the customers find you and what you have? If you are suggesting that you plan on listing them on ebay and then contacting the bidders and making the sale off ebay, that is a good way to get banned from eBay. Both you and your customers. If you have a website and can somehow get customers to it then it is fine using Paypal to accept payment.
The for sale forum works that way. And even though a dealer I know sells on eBay I saw a for sale listing on another forum of one of his items the other day and sent him a PM asking him to send me a PayPal request for payment and made my latest purchase that way. Oh and as mentioned trying or actually doing fee avoidance will get your eBay account suspended.
Why list your items on eBay at all if this the way you want to sell? Simply list your items on forums and on your own web site. Yahoo and others offer store web sites for reasonable prices. The advantage of eBay is worldwide exposure, but don't violate their rules if you want to continue with them.
