what does cameo mean?

    I have a Jefferson nickel 1952 is it worth anything and what does cameo mean???

    The nickel is worth about 25 cents. If it has a "D" mintmark on the other side, it's worth about 45 cents.
    "Cameo" is a way of describing Proof coins. The fields of the coin are reflective, sort of like a mirror, and the devices are frosted, thus producing a cameo effect.
