What does a well dressed Astro wear to a coin show on 8/3/19

This weekend is the Bellaire Coin Club coin show. If you are in the area, please plan to attend. I helped set up yesterday and already know one of my future treasures will be an upgrade to one of my voting in the Roman Republic coins from Bill of Nilus. Bill said he will have lots of Roman Egypt coins for sale.

One of the highlights of the day will be helping with the YNs auction. Some of them are dealers with sales tables at our show. The coin below was donated by Nick of Pegasi.

I haven't been to that show for years. The last time I went I was very disappointed. It was very crowded. The dealers were more interested in visiting with each other than attending to the patrons. It was just and unpleasant experience.

 

I always really enjoyed that show when we lived in Houston. After visiting with Nick and Bill you would always find one or two other dealers with the odd ancient or medieval. I would also bring a box of trades when I was in the “upgrade” mode. It was an enjoyable way to while away an afternoon.

Sounds fun. Sounds like you are an Astros fan. I am an A's fan and we are 8 games back with 8 more games against the Astros. I hope we can catch you guys but probably not because you are even stronger with the addition of Greinke. Best hope for us is the wildcard.

We had 59 YNs in the auction. For the most part all went well. The two ancient coins drew plenty of interest. The number of scouts in working on their numismatic badge was an even larger crowd.
