    I just won this a couple of hours ago on ebaY. Anbody have any clue as to what is going on with it? Pics attached.

    I am sorry to say but I am sure that it is Post Mint and man made! It appears that the the area was rolled between two metal rollers to create a similated error which is similar to an out of collar brockage strike or off-center.

    Badger, I'm no expert, but I agree with Frank, this happened outside the Mint. While I'd like to call this a second strike error, all the ones I've seen at least have an image of some kind on the second strike, and that of course isn't present here.

    Yeah, I concur also. I thought it was post-mint. I only paid less than $5 bucks for it, but it does put itself into my "Forgeries" category! And I'm happy 'bout that! :)

    looks like it went a quarter of the way into one of those penny elongator machines. those machines at tourist attractions. i ve seen them for cents and quarters. maybey they i have dime ones too

    If you ask me, it looks like someone put it on the train tracks, but off-center.

    Well finally an area in which I have some expert experience. This example is definitely not a train-tracker. If anything, it's a counterfeit. And there are many such fakes around, so beware. The area in question here is simply neither flat enough nor smooth enough to be considered a genuine honest to goodness train-tracker. Here, see this pic, see for yourself...
