I don't know if a TPG could quite bring themselves to the coveted P01 for it, but maybe. The obverse easily qualifies but the reverse isn't such a slam dunk. Heritage claims PCGS has 3 and NGC 1 in P01, but the PCGS Population Report claims their lowest is FR2.

I love this coin. It's a lowball candidate and on top of that a fairly scarce date.

Wow, amazing that one didn't end up in a melting pot somewhere. So much wear the shield on the rev. looks like a big toothy grin. Great coin.

 

This coin is the PCGS Photograde image for a P-01. My coin looks a little less worn.

This is a PCGS FR-02. My coin is much more worn than this example.

So is my coin a high-end PO-01 or a bottom end FR-02?

 

Nice looking low-ball. IMO, yours is a PO-1. (Actually, it's more a case of I don't think that it has enough detail left to make FR-2)

Nice low ball coin. I am in the PO1 camp. I always look for low ball coins for fun. Oh how many hands it has passed through!
