1916-D raw floating around in my loose penny box. I'm just getting around to searching and starting conservation.

I agree with the XF for sharpness. I can't see the pictures on my phone well enough for the details Kirk mentions.

Same coin with his brother from another mother in natural sunlight.

I think Abe would have the class and decency not to grade coins which contained his likeness. :p

Is it worth the $35 to send in the 14-D to try and get a VF30?

It's your money, but if that's your grade requirement, I wouldn't bother.

I would barely give the 16-D a VF 35, but then I am an O.G.

Okay, but your question was very specific and was responded to accordingly.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

The 1914D appears original-ish, and may be worth grading. The grade on that one is limited to F, however - the lines on the wheat ears need to be full to get VF. Even still, a 14D in F-15 is worth $250 or so.

The 16D has definitely been cleaned or polished. I like it best at VF details, but I've seen EF's with that level of wear. This coin is only worth a couple of dollars, and is obviously not worth grading.
