Just wanted to see what you guys think about this gold dollar. Its a great coin with very deep frosty luster. What would you guys guess it grades? Its already certified by ICG I wanna see how good they did grading wise on this. I will post the grade later :D

    Very nice! I'd guess AU55-58.

I love those little things. The older I get the smaller they seem.

    I'd say a nice AU58, but wouldn't be surprised with something like a 64.

I agree with the AU grades. But you'll be hard pressed to find a coin that looks like that in an AU slab.

Must just be the pics then. It was graded MS64 by ICG. There is no signs of any wear or luster breaks (even at the highest points from abrasions from other coins). The luster is very deep with almost no marks at all. The hairline is somewhat weak but in hand you can see its not from wear. If I get a chance later I will try to get some better pics :D Thanks for your comments all ;) Also wanted to note that the color in the pics is mostly reflection from the light it is a darker gold color.

Might very well be MS64. Sometimes ICG gets it very right. It certainly looks pretty!

But any sign of the slightest rub will give it an AU grade. Then we call it an AU64. ;)

    Here's a PCGS AU58, for comparison.

    Leadfoot there is no spoon

    I think that's a PCGS 3 and an NGC 4.

That is a pretty coin as well :) On that one though you can see a touch of friction in the fields a lil. On the one I posted its a full blanket of unbroken luster that covers the entire coin.

I got to ask what did you use to get such a nice clear pic of that coin? I am HORRIBLE at pics LOL.

Here is another too. This one is an ICG 61. It has very nice glittery gold luster but not the deep frost of the 64.
