Here it is again http://cgi.ebay.com/1883-2-SHIELD-NICKEL-GEM-MS-64-KEY-DATE-RARE_W0QQitemZ8432137731 QQcategoryZ11952QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
DON'T TOUCH IT! Three reasons 1) No returns, coin you see is coin you get but it is not graded, and pics are blurry 2) guy has 11336 feedback that is only 98.6% that means 158 negatives and 131 neutrals 3) look at his feedback, he lkeaves retalitory negatives for people who leave negatives AND neutrals, blocks them from ever bidding on his stuff again and uses derogatory language and name calling. STAY AWAY! wait for one from a TPG or at least someone who is a member on the PNG or ANA
SCOTT Remember befor you buy anything for that kind of money come to cointalk first. There are some good folks here who have had a lot of experience with e-bay sales and they are always glad to help.
I wouldn't touch it simply because there is no return policy. I wouldn't personally pay that kind of money for a nonslabbed coin that I couldn't see in person either-but thats me. As for the negative feedback. I always check the sellers negative/neutral feedback before I bid on something. I'm sure most of you have used this site before, but incase some of you haven't-this is very handy: http://www.toolhaus.org/
That link is a very handy appliance. I would definitely use it to check out sellers. Sometimes you get some very interesting reading. Know what I mean?
I would not let his negative feedback bother me in the least. He has OVER 11,000 positives. Remember, and I know this from selling on ebay, some people are not happy NO MATTER WHAT !!! If I wanted the coin bad enough (and could afford it) I would certainly buy it. I may call the dealer since you know the name of his buisness and tell him you are serious about the coin and see if you could work out a return if you are not happy. He would probably work something out with you if he does not get any bids other than yours. Good luck.... It is a nice coin !
Wouldn't touch it if it were me. Scott - if you really want one of these coins then contact Howard Spindell - HERE - Howard is one of the recognized experts for these coins and if anyone knows where you can find one from a reputable, trustworthy dealer - he will. This makes twice now that a link to him has been posted.
It is raw, cleaned, and not all that nice to begin with. The seller is a scumbag, on top of it...Mike
This is mostly false. while some people are never happy, good customer support will solve the vast majority of problems. I currently have 8698 feedback and I nave no negatives and one neutral, mostly because I don't overgrade/misrepresent my items and I work hard to provide quality communication and support thoughout the transaction. this guy has HUNDREDS of dissatisfied customers and a rating if 98.6% which is exceptionally bad, no matter how many positives he has. Remember that jerk sellers who get away with selling their junk to the unknowing routinely get positive feedback because the newbie doesn't know any different. The experienced collector is savvy enough to avoid buying from problem sellers.
nuts That seller is nuts. He says he accepts nothing but positive feedback or he will give you a negative. Seams to me if he was a little easier to deal with he would not have to worry about nutrals or negs.
