OK, I got these from my uncle. I am guessing that the 1752 coin is from the Dutch Indies. The 1790 one, from what I can gather, is from Netherland/East Endies...a 2 Duit piece. Can anyone confirm this? Also, does anyone know what these might be worth? The 1790: And the 1752:
The 1752 coin is from the province of Holland. The 1790 coin is from the province of Utrecht. Each Dutch province issued its own coins under the United East India Company (VOC). The 1 duit coins are about 23 millimeters in diameter. The 1752 is worth about $3 or so in that condition. The 1790 1 duit is worth about $1 and the 2 duit may be worth about $2. You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
thanks for that great info. I am still a newbie with coins. I need to pick up the world coin guide that you described. Thanks again. Mark
