What do I have?1878 Morgan how many feathers do u see?

Hello all, i am new at this so i need your help I purchased this Morgan dollar at a price of 30.00 dollars did i do good on it amd also how many feathers does it have? what feathers, on the eagle tail?
Sorry if i sound stupid but i am new at this Sorry

The Eagles tail feathers you are correct, however, with the picture you provided, it is hard to tell.... The area in question is rather dark as the picture is on a 45 degree angle. I would suggest that you take the picture straight on and with better lighting

 

How is this Better picture?

 

Our coin has what is called the Third Reverse. Can't tell if you did good with it without seeing the obverse [front] also.

That is correct. Seven eagle tail feathers, slanted top arrow feather, convex breast,
Obverse looks like it has alot of marks on it. Not sure if it's just the photo or not,
it's hard to tell by them sometimes. Think you did OK. It hard to find them for less than $25-30. and it is the oldest date. Check out some older forums to compare it to. And welcome to CT.
