What do I do with this coin?

    It is large and heavy. Its 25cm.
    Should it be cleaned or not?
    I do not reckognise the reverse... At the feet of the female figure is something that looks like lion...

    I dont think cleaning will do it any good, a bath in olive oil for a couple of weeks will make it probably slighty better.

    Heres the coin in a somewhat better condition:

    Just to correct OP from that thread, Viminacium is not in West Turkey, unless there were two cities by the same name, Viminacium is in todays Serbia

    Hostilian. Cleaning a bit might make the ID more obvious but it will not make a good looking coin. These later ones are not as large or impressive as the Gordians and Phillips.

    When my son was about 5, he asked me unironically, "Dad, where did you get all those Roman coins? Did you get them in your change when you were a boy?"
