Are they just Matte or something do they looked burned? I seen a silver eagle in a local Newspaper I figured it was a Burnished one but I wasn't sure.

Burnished is one of those $5 words that mean 'polished'.
The planchets are polished before striking.

They look a lot like a regular ASE but they are a little whiter/frostier and they have a W mintmark.

"The 2014 American Eagle One Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin is struck on specially burnished blanks. The .999 fine silver coin has a finish similar to its bullion counterpart but carries the "W" mint mark indicating production at the United States Mint at West Point. Each coin is encapsulated in protective plastic and placed in a blue presentation case. A Certificate of Authenticity is included."

It's pretty tough to tell apart a burnished eagle versus a well struck BU uncirculated regular bullion version silver eagle. If it wasn't for that W mint mark I don't think most people could tell the difference.

true, all silver eagles since 2006 struck at west point have been struck on planchets that went thru that extra polishing stage and were called "burnished" mainly to differentiate them from the bullion pieces...

If it weren't for the danged 'W', I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
