Can anyone tell me what country this coin is from? (The pic has two coins, the top is obviously a U.S. 3 cent piece), but I cannot I.D. the bottom coin. The date is 1875 and the denomination is '?'APA with the '?' letter looking like a Pi sign. I do not know what language this is, and therefore can't eatablich the country of origin. Thanks Alan J.
Alan, the ruler of Serbia was Prince Milan Obrenovic III,who became King Milan of Serbia in 1881.He abdicated in favour of his son,King Alexander in 1889,& died in 1901.King Alexander was murdered along with his consort Queen Draga in 1903.This event restored the Royal House of Karageorgevic to the throne,as there was a dispute in the 19th Century between the Karageorgevic (the descendants of Prince Karageorge (Serbian for 'Black George')) & the Obrenovic. There is 100 Para in 1 Dinar. The plural for Dinar is Dinara. Aidan.
Wow... do you guys actually know this, or did you look it up? Because I am Serbian myself and I didnt think anyone bothered to write much about our history. Atleast anything that was easy for non serbs to find.
