What coins are these, i am tortured for month!

    please any senior collector help me identify these two coins,

    i have gone through all series of Krause without discovery of a clue,
    help!

    We have a couple of Indian member here who might well know what they are :hail: ( I think they are Indian LOL)

    you know, i have checked all krause (1981 edition, an all for one), but without result, but i guess too the mark on them are sanskrit.

    I have a few similar looking coins that I know are Indian LOL (Said so on the holders) but I can not read the writting :rolleyes:

    They are INS or India Native States coins, could have been issued as late as the early part of the 20th century. Krause catalogs once had a comprehensive and exhaustive listing of all of these coins in the early 1980's that I used to identify a few of mine. But there are literally hundreds of coin issuers from that time, and you can spend hours trying to identify them, especially if you do not read Hindi.

    Frankly I have an easier time with Chinese coins, at least I can read some of them.

    yes, you are right

    but this is not hindu, this is perhaps sanskrit.

    And only on these types, Krause become very fatigueing.

    I spent too many hours on them, not worth it, i think.

    So i gave it up.

    These coins are not well-reeded, so the erosion is killing information on the surface!

    They kind of remind me of some 9th century AD indian coins I have. But the writing is completely different.
