This question is posted to see what types of shows fellow forum readers will try to attend in 2006. Do you like to attend large coin shows or small ones? You can post your reasons why if you please. I'm going to try to attend the ANA convention this year. Also some local shows-MidAmerica Coin Show, Central States Numismatic Society Convention, Palm Beach Coin Show, and local, smaller, coin shows near me. I prefer large coin shows because they offer a lot more coins at "cheaper" prices (just because more people have different prices and want to sell) and to meet new people.
I have NEVER been to a coin show-but guess what my New Year's Resolution is? Looking forward to some opinions- Bill
I am planning on going to the CSNS show in Columbus in April. I also go to a few small shows in my area, when I can get my parents to take me to them. Charlie
I only get to go to about 1 a year....sometimes there is another one near but the biggest one around here has about 50 tables....its nice and fun!....its in the fall so I've got a long time to wait! Speedy
I usually have only been able to attend 1 or 2 shows, but since I can drive now I can go to further shows and more shows during the year. Unfortunately I'm not made of money, so I can't always get what I am looking for at the shows
That is why I like to search Ebay/Heritage/DLRC and the like...its like going to a BIG show!!....and you can do that when you have the $$ you need! Speedy
I'm planning on attending a show in Staten Island, Jan 14, its my second so I'm looking forward to it. Does anyone know what the "New York International Numismatic Convention" is about? Its held Jan 12-15 and was wondering what its about?
I may just make it to the Las Vegas show this year. Haven't been there in over two years and would like to see the catman and find out what he is up to these days.
I will be attending the numismatic convention which is being held in March to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Royal Numismatic Society of New Zealand's foundation.I was a member of the R.N.S.N.Z. until 5 days before Christmas, when I handed in my notice of resignation, which was due to irreconcilable differences between the President of the R.N.S.N.Z. & myself. It was also due to a personal dispute as well, which I am not prepared to go into.I will be getting a special dealer's pass,so I can do some business with dealers from both New Zealand & Australia before the public are allowed in at 10 am. Aidan.
California Long Beach Coin Stamp and Collectable Expo Feb 9 - 11, 2006 and the grandkids are welcome. The show covers over 100,000 sq feet and has about 2000 dealers. I've never been disapointed and usually go home broke. Last summer they had a 1913 Liberty Head nickel on display. If you can't find it there - it probable doesn't exist.
Ron,all 5 pieces of the 1913 Liberty Head nickel are known to the numismatic community anyway. Aidan.
I usually just attend the local coin show (40 +/- table) that happens monthly. I buy from my regular dealers that know and locate what coins I like and know what I will spend on average. There is also another local club show (20 tables +/-) that sets up at the mall every other month with good dealers and usually good "stuff".
Never been to one... Visited a few shops here and there but coin shows don't really make it to my neck of the woods. I hope your eatin' your Blackeyed Peas. Bone
Ron,did you know which example of the 1913 Liberty Head nickel was,as far as its provenance goes? We all know that they were originally in the possession of one Colonel Green. Aidan.
