Hello, I haven't been here in such a long time, but I finally found something I don't know or can't find. I was wondering what kind of coin is this? Double sided. It looks circulated some even. I am also wondering if it is silver as well.
Looks kinda like https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces5974.html but maybe fake, there's no denomination side and appears crude, maybe cast copy?
It's in the style of a Turkish coin but it wouldn't be the same on both sides, so I don't think it's a coin.
Almost certainly. Or some other decorative jewelry type thing. It's made to look like a coin, but its intended to be cheap and decorative.
If you ever need to know if a coin is silver, flick it up in the air with your thumb and if it makes a long ringing sound it's silver, if it makes a dull ding, it's not silver. You can also drop it on a table from a few inches high and same thing, a nice high pitch resonant ring is silver. Also I agree, this looks like a cast copy, it has two identical sides and the holder at the top seems pretty well attached to the coin itself, not just welded. A belly dancer coin could be an interesting idea, but I'm unsure of that
