I have a pure silver coin but have no idea where it came from? Any idea's? O nthe Back it has 2 july 1903-1978 and NORGE 50 KR
If it is approximately 36mm wide, with the bust of King Olav V looking to your left, it's sterling (.925) , not pure silver. "Norge" is "Norway" in Norwegian. 800,000 of the 27g 50 Kroner coin (KM#424)were minted to commemorate the King's 75th birthday. to Cointalk. BTW it's the first 50 Kroner ever issued by Norway, which reduced the weight of subsequent coins of that denomination.
Thanks, I found it with the rest of my coin sets, and was woundering what it was. Oh yeah it nice to be here.
