I recently searched through a large box of coins that I have and found a coin that I have no idea about. It's a 5 Pfenning coin (i´m gonna guess German or Austrian), approx. 1cm in diameter. It says either Spieloeld or Spielgeld on top, 5 in the middle and Pfenning below. On the backside it only has an image of a 4 leaf clover, no country ID, no year, no nothing but this clover. What can it be? I will try and scan an image soon if this information is not enough.
Howdy EinarKM - Welcome to the Forum !! It's not really a coin. The term spielgeld roughly means play money.
Thanks for the quick reply... maybe i´ll use it in a poker game But since i´ve started... I found a 1994 World Cup - Repulic Of Ireland coin... anyone know of the values for coins like that one ?
Maybe so, but it's not from Ireland. The Irish coins have "éire" as the country name, and Ireland did not issue any commems in 1994. I think that it is either a medal, or a coin from some third country. The 1994 World Cup was in the US, and Ireland was among the participants, so maybe some African or Pacific country issued a series with all the participating countries/teams? Christian
Christian, You're propably right on that one. I have no idea where I got this coin from though :smile But I will most likely sell all the coins that I have in my box and others that I will find here. Most of them are from Iceland... since I am Icelandic
