What single coin in your collection has the most value to you?
Not monitary value but personnal value. The one that you get that feeling about every time you look at it and have to look at it proir to putting your collection away no matter the reason you took it out it the first place.
The one that if God forbid if your collection was stolen or lost in a fire you would be somewhat OK as long as you still had that one?

My collection is rather expendable as far as sentimental value. I do have a collection of pennies (Flying Eagles 1857 - 1970's Lincoln Memorials)that was put together by my father that I wouldn't want to loose. Also somewhere in my mother's safety deposit box, I have a 1922 Peace Dollar, and an 1893 Columbian Exposition Half that my grandfather left me. I haven't seen either since the early 1970's but someday I'll rescue them.

I have a 2001 1/10 ounce Platinum Eagle that my wife gave me for our wedding year that I wouldn't want to lose. I also have six silver dollars, 3 peace and 3 morgans that my Grandma and Grandpa gave me that I wouldn't want to lose. My great grandparents actually collected them back when they were in circulation and my grandparents have held onto them all these years. My great-grandparents had a confectionary store. When they could afford to, they pulled out the dollars to save. There were quite a few in their collection. Let's see...there are 13 grandkids on my mom's side and each of us have gotten a silver dollar every Christmas for the past six years, so that would be 78 so far and Grandma says that they've got enough for another year or two.

It would either be a NICE NGC PF66CAMEO 1962 Franklin that I like alot...or my S VDB.
Some of my coins were given to me but sometimes the special coins are the ones you find and are proud of.

My S VDB is not my most valuable, but I could not part with it. It was my grandfathers and I went to pick it up for him when he bought it. At that time my collection was mostly wheat cents and buff nickles of little value so I thought that VDB was the best coin ever. :thumb:

I have an 1876-s seated quarter that I found in my mother's strong box. It was in an old leather change purse that belonged to a beloved aunt that died many years ago. It makes me smile every time I open up my Dansco 7070.

Check out your local Toyz-R-Us or Walmart if you want a new one. They should have them on the shelf. :thumb:

I have a 1962 proof set, (my birth year), given to me by my parents in 1974. At that time I put the set in a Capitol plastic holder, and over the years it has developed some spectacular toning. Not worth much $$$, but I would never sell or trade it.

Oddly enough, it's my worthless 1940-P wheatie. It's the first coin I've ever found that I considered "special". It introduced me to wheat pennies which turned me on to coin-collecting.

Well I have two sets of 2002 AGE in proof and Uncirc all PCGS MS and PRF69..
I bought these to honor my son's birth year! Each time I look at them I see him in the far off future after I am dead..saying my Dad got these for me when I was a little kid..(along with every AGE in the seires) and how I wish he were here with me now....when that happens, I will be there..right in his hand as they are very much a part of me as well.

I started collecting at about 4 yrs old, and got a metal detector when I was about 15. (60 bucks or so from CENTURY) I had just gotten it and was showing a friend how it worked and on the first beep I found an 1832 large cent. It is poor and pitted, but I still have it.
