So i figured I would start a game for entertainment and to make me smarter on coins.

    How it works.

I post a one line fact about a particular coin, you guess what coin it is. Once the answer is revealed then the person to get it right first posts a one line fact. And on it goes.

I will attempt to keep a tally of who gets the most correct. There is no prize :)

For the first one I will do an easy one.

First fact: The hat pictured in this coin symbolizes freedom of thought.

I will be nice and only refer to US coins. :)

This coin was the first coin in the US to include the metal nickel.

Are we including patterns? Or just circulating/proofs?

Wish I could, but it wasn't produced by the US government. I think I should make this only US mint products.

For JA, I would say circulating issues. Don't need a date, just type.

Miss Liberty has looked more dignified in other varieties of this small denomination series.

Kind of hard to think of a good question. Don't want to make it too difficult, here goes:
What year is the second lowest mintage of the gold two and a half dollar Indian head coin?
Not the lowest mintage, but the second lowest.

Hint: The Indian head quarter eagle gold coin was minted from 1908 to 1929. None were made from 1916 through 1924.
