I know this isn't anything special or rare, I just have a question about a .25c Connecticut coin. I only have one so I can't compare the designs but can you see how it looks to be machine doubling without any direction (S/W, N/E, etc). It's under the entire letter (I used E & C as an example) Very noticeable on center bar of E. Is this just the design of the Connecticut quarter?
It could be due to die deterioration, but without seeing an image of the entire coin, I'd only be guessing. It might also be due to a combination of machine doubling and die deterioration, but in any event, it's only worth 25c. Chris
Hey thanks Chris.. yes my post was based merely on curiosity & knowing what to look for & what to dismiss, rather than 'what's it worth?'.
Yes, that appears to be Die Deterioration Doubling. It is extremely common: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Die-deterioration_doubling
The die jiggled around a little before it lifted. @Vegasnay, I'm sure glad someone like you, i.e., open-minded, asked this question. Typically, we'd get someone coming on here calling this a "double-double die," then spending page after page trying to convince us of it.
LMAO^^ Yes I've seen a few of those.. I feel for you guys at times when you get the same question over & over. I try to look for an answer among the threads posted before I ask..but honestly I only search 2-3 pages back.
Don't worry about it. I'm sure someone will let you know when you've asked a question that comes up several times a week. By the way, is that a photo of you in your avatar? Is that part of a dance routine or did you just fall on your butt? Chris
Back when I did drink it would take about four beers but I could do Footloose better than Kevin Bacon. Long ago in a galaxy far, far away. These days it's the Hobble Step.
Yeah, but the big difference between you and Kevin is that you had to pay to do it and he got paid to do it. Chris
No just an optical illusion. In front of the theater here in Vegas where the Beatles show 'Love' plays. There's a curved plexiglass wall & I found if I posed just right, it looks as if I have mad skills as a dancer.. lol
I take it that you live in Vegas. If so, do you know what happened to the "Crazy Girls" bronze that was part of the Riviera's exterior on Las Vegas Boulevard? The Riv was torn down several years ago, and I always wondered if someone saved it. Chris
Hey Chris I found out that it moved to Planet Hollywood when the show moved over there. It's in the casino...I asked my old roommate, he's a VIP host at PH.
