Classic example of what the oils on your fingers do to a coin. The oil from your fingers, if left on the coin long enough, will cause this type of permanent marking. This is why handling a coin by the edge or donning gloves is recommended.
Finger print on a lousy Zincoln cent with plating issues. I'm sure you are aware that in 1982 the U.S. mint changed from using mostly copper to using zinc coated with copper for the cent. Your cent is one of those with plating issues and then someone handled it with oily fingers, etching their print in to the surface. I don't know what you do in the U.K. with unneeded foreign coins, but I'd spent or get rid of that one.
I've seen it before Its @paddyman98's fingerprint. He put it in circulation and whomever found it gets a 5 million, no, 10-million-dollar reward. Thats going to keep him busy digging for a long long time. Thanks for posting it.
@paddyman98 how was the show, did you meet anyone interesting, what did you find? Did your wife let you back in the home? Welcome back.
