What caused marks between B & E And E & R?

    IMO, the coin shows die deterioration doubling ( usually noticed by the design such as the lettering being pushed to the edge by being used way past its time and the metal face of the die stretching ) Think of pounding a round metal stake into the ground with a hammer several times and looking at the top of the stake where the hammer was hitting.) Jim

    When I saw the post I was thinking die chips.
    The doubling continues through Liberty.
