Found some coins in my son's clothes the other day and not sure what they are. In the back of my mind I fear they are free mason coins but Im hoping you lovely people can clarrify this. Many Thanks. Pictures:

Why would you 'fear' that they are free mason coins?

No, they are counterfeits of 15th and 16th century Spanish coins. Why don't you try asking your son first?

Also, (and this is what will condemn this thread to the Politics & Religion forum) why would you think that free masons are involved in witchcraft? Simply because you're not one of them? Remarkably ignorant and naive.

Now now, Ardy. :p Not everyone knows everything. ;) There are still peeps that won't eat a Love Apple because they think it's poisonous and there are even peeps that don't know what a Love Apple is. ;)

However, I agree with your assessment of the coins. :thumb:

Maybe try Googling the lettering that is visible to come up with something? But if he left these in his pocket, and considering the nice condition they appear to be in, they probably are replicas of something more valuable. I 've seen items like this in a store in Newport, R.I. , along with replica shipwreck coins many time. Could be your son caught a fancy to them as novelties.

All in all sounds like a wonderful opportunity for mutual research, information gathering, education and parent/child communication.

I clicked on your link, nice photos of the coins! Would that be your son's wedding photo also?
