What are the best banks to get rolls from?

I am new to roll searching. I live in San Diego, California. I have noticed that some machines can tell the difference between older coins and new coins. The machine must be looking at the weight of the coin. I would think that some banks sort out old coins, and others would not.

Does anyone have a recommendation on banks that do not sort out old coins? Does anyone know which banks sort out old coins (so I do not waste my time)?

It's not so much the bank as it is the type of sorting/counting machine that they use.

The ones that allow you to buy customer rolled rolls. That's where you'll find the goodies. I've never found anything special in any boxes from Brinks.

Some banks don't sell them because they make the customers put in their name or account number, so if the roll is short, they take that money out of their account. Just got to ask if they have any customer rolled rolls, and don't get mad when they roll their eyes :)

This is the best time of year to hunt rolls, everyone is cashing in their change to buy gifts....

    Happy Hunting!

    Chris,

Thank you for your reply. I would think a bank like Bank of America would all use the same type of machine. Do you find that each bank location use different machines?
