I realize the middle has been altered, but I was wondering if someone would recognize the other parts of this coin (?). Note crown at top and bow at bottom. It could be an older coin (approx. 100 years old). Not sure what denomination or country, or if it's just a token of sorts.
You are a Canadian Quarter with the "25 Cents Canada,19**" removed and initials engraved. If I'm right,it is anywhere from 1901-1936 depending on which British monarch is/was on the obverse side.Anything there?
Hmmm I was quite certain that the date carved in it was 1891, but now I'm not so sure, unless your 1901-1936 range is off by a few years? Good news is that it seems to be the coin though.
OK, I found a 1890 25c piece and it looked the same as above, so it's the same coin, just probably earlier than 1901 (not sure when they started, but in all honesty it doesn't matter). I just wanted to know what it was (thanks). EDIT: I think the span was from 1870 - 1901
LOL...never occured to me to look in my 19th century Krause catalog for the same design. That's why I only saw 1901 on...AGAIN..does it have Queen Victoria on the obverse or not?
The Crown at the top of the reverse of what was a Canadian coin is a Queen's Crown, not a King's Crown. It would have Queen Victoria's portrait on the reverse. Aidan.
Karrlot,look at the arches on the Crown.If they're pointing down,then it's a Queen's Crown.If they're pointing up,then it's a King's Crown.That is how you will tell the difference. Aidan.
Sorry I missed this part. There wasn't anything on the obverse. Had flat surface with initials , love token like.
