Hello ALL!!! I received in chance a coin i was expecting tô have for upgrading my brasilian Real cents collection. But when changing the coins, i figured out that the 1998 10 centavos i had in my collection was an error coin with DDO. What a good Surprise!!!! Any comments are appreciated. Thanks The Photos shows both coins.
Some Varieties are not error coins. Some Variety coins are error coins , and DDO is one that is an error coin. https://www.error-ref.com/part-ii-die-varieties/
I don't get it,so your saying doubled dies are errors @paddyman98 please respond have I been getting mix up this whole time or am I being tricked.
Thanks @alurid for your important comments about this matter. I think i really need to learn much more about the differences between erros and varieries, specially when analizing Brazilian coins, but i agree with you @alurid.
No trick, Do some reading research. There is different types of Errors (P,D,S), and different types of Varieties as well.
So, P,D,S are errors...little early for drinking... Love the Brasil DD's and I look for them, but no luck yet
Great find, I see the doubling on the Brasil side but that date! I've never come across doubling that looks like that date, yes great surprise for you and definitely a keeper!
Nice discovery. I think if some of us older collectors were to go back over our collection, we might be surprised, like you were.
They are different types of errors, Planchet, Die, and Striking Error. Some Die Errors produce some Varieties.
