I was on e-Bay checking out prices for the First Spouse gold coins, and to my surpriseI saw a pre-sale for the upcoming Jefferson's Liberty coin! The coin(s) are being offered by someone with a feedback of 8 I think and has only had an account for less than a month. What is the hobby coming to?!
sometimes people are slow to buy... my eBay account has a feedback rating of I think 144 and I have had it since Jan 1998 still, I think they are never gonna be a credible place to bid them, too much monkey business can happen with pre-sales, plus if they don't get good bids, 8 feedback is nothing to just write off and make disappear!
Personally, I dont bid on pre-sales of anything, especially coins. Its really hard to tell what an Ebay sellers habits are by a feedback of only 8 but I guess you have to start somewhere. I never bid large amounts on Ebay auctions anyway but I wouldnt recommend bidding large amounts of money with a new seller. Could you post the auction number or the sellers ID for us?
I'm not sure how to post a direct link to the auction, but here is the item numbers to (2) separate sellers on eBay. (2001429537810 and 200142954069) Here are the item numbers to the second seller, who apparently is a power seller. (260149243270, 260149243401, 260149243978) This ad says they will be receiving 5 of each coin, so save yourself the trouble and order from them!
