Picked this up tonight for well under my max bid...looks like a pretty nice coin. Opinions?

Nice die crack at 11 o'clock. Looks like lightning shooting out from the eagle's wings.

Beauty...nice eye appeal! There might be a little too much going on in the cheek to get a 65 under the current standards, but still a nice one!

Looks nice and I like the reverse toning, but I am not sure a 65.

Nah, not a 5, old brand X holder.

    Still very attractive.

I agree - very attractive and all original(at least in my opinion). Normally in the brand-x holders you see the cleaned coins.

But this was along time ago, eighties, (marked 1988) about, I think.

And the Brand X graders had some pride back then.

That really looks nice. And I like the holder too. Too bad it died out - the market wasn't right then and color printing was expensive back then.

Nice looking coin - for less than you were willing to pay! Nice toning!

    Congrats!

DJ,that's a very nice looking Morgan. There's an article in Coin Values that says INS was the first third party grading service. It began grading coins back in December of 1979. According to the story INS laid the ground work for the third party grading services. I wonder if there would be a some sort of premium on a INS slab due to the numismatic history involved with it. Maybe to a slab collector.

Looks so perty! I love seeing an original Morgan that hasn't been cleaned stark white!
