I have received my sets and the medal is firmly seated in the display case. I was wondering if anyone has been able to remove the medal to see what (if anything) it may have on the reverse.
I don't know, because my two sets are STILL backordered until July 5th. I really hope I get them. I already have have every COIN that is in the set, but I hoped to put the sets into collections that I have been putting together for my 18 month old daugther, and my daughter who should be born any day now. I bought two fire proof safes and have been purchasing coins and mint products from their year's of birth, 2003 and 2005, and other things that I like and think might go up in value by the time they are adults. I figure if they become coin collectors this will jump start their collections, and if not, they can sell them and use the money toward their college tuition or first house.
It is possible to remove the medal from the set, its just seated in there pretty tight. On the reverse is a picture of Thomas Jefferson IIRC.
You might want to check the mint website. Today my status went from backordered until 7/5 to "in stock and reserved". There might be hope yet.
