As many of you now the West Point mint has some of the most beautiful looking strikes there is good reason for that as most of your proof and burnished coins come from there the "W" on the back of the coin is the give away however all coins minted there do not have that designation, I was pretty confused because to do have a coin that has the W on the slab but not on the coin, so I called PCGS for an explanation (W) this sign actually means its a businesses strike, and that the "W" on the coin indicates Proof or burnished so you learn something new every day ! Heres a few that I have gotten from the West Point Mint including one that I just got today a $50 Type 2
I didnt buy them all at one time...LOL, but I have invested allot of hard work and sweat on what I have today, have allot of Krugerrands as well last check was at 16 I am trying to use those as social life event coins however once you get past 83, it gets very tough have my three sons covered 82,89,91 my daughter was born in 2001 one of the lowest production 1 OZ Krugerrands minted the same is almost the same for the 1987 in which is the year I was married, so if you notice the 1987-W posted above actually celebrates the year I was married, will probably fly do the same with my daughters birth year.
Our gold coins and gold futures are for our three granddaughters. Our hope is that they use wisdom and common sense to enhance their lives. We won't know, or will we?
