information i went to the bank today to try my luck in getting some half dollars and i got several 1971@74 that in red book not worth much and i got 1983d= 2 1985d=1 1981d=2 1982d=1 1980d=1 1995d=1 1979=2 1992p=1 1986d=1 11 bicenntials all d mint i was wondering in the red book on the bicenntials what date do you look for they have 1776-1976 okn it do you look at the 1976 or what there are several different dates in the book for bicenntials i need information thak you and any of these be keepers are should i turn them back into circulation except the bicenntials
Ok, you got some coins, what are they? You mention Bicentennials so you are probably talking about Quarters, halves, or dollars. Then some of thedates are in the 80's so they aren't Ikes. So that narrows it down to quarters and halves.
yes it halves and i figured out to look at 1976 for bicenntials and it shows in the red book 1.50 for them in PF-63 condition so thanks
Keep in mind that "PF-63" is only for proof coins, i.e. for bicentennial halves, only from the "S" mint. I assume you added "halves" in the edit of your original post since I read this earlier and like Conder101 I was a bit confused. Most of the halves you found I would say are pretty common and will likely have no value above $0.50, so if you mean to keep them to make money I'd not bother. On the other hand, if you're starting a half dollar collection and they appear in good condition I'd say go for it!
