2 pre-1800 draped bust large cents that have been passed down through my family. Not in great shape, but the price was right... Thoughts on grades/value? The 1796 first: Would this even make AG? Red Book says AG-3 = Clear enough to identify. I was able to identify it :smile The reverse is nearly warn smooth, you can make out a few letters in the USA if you angle it into the light just right. The red book lists 4 different reverse varieties, but there's definitely not enough detail to be able to place this one... Couldn't get a good picture with it in the 2x2, & don't really feel like removing it at the moment... Now the 1798... This one's a little better... and the reverse is even better... --Paul
In other threads I see pictures, but for some reason not this thread. Maybe when I get home later tonight I will remember to check.
Seems that my web hosting service is down... Let me see what I can do... EDIT: It's down for "Scheduled Maintenance and Upgrades"... I'll post them here when I get back to my other computer... EDIT AGAIN: They're back! --Paul
These 2 were free! But coinvalues puts the 1798 at $70 in AG-3 and the 1796 at $400! Not that coinvalues is completely accurate to market prices... --Paul
