    I am both excited and ~ 750.USD poorer..LOL

I just picked up my first Series 1977 A Full Reverse offset $5 New York note ChCu 64...it is sorta of erie looking to say the least! I will post pics as soon as it is delivered.

Now I know what you are thinking...hum, did that stupid Jarhead pay that much for that note??

Nope!! Recall earlier this week I picked up the Series 1914 Blue Seal New York FRN in ChCu 62 and the final note of the 5th issue Fractionals in ChCu as well (Crawford).

As soon as take delivery I'll be sure to post em...

I am excited about the error note as it is the only error I will have thus far and is part of the New York collection!
Please someone call the local addiction Center for me as I have gone off the Deep End..LOL

Off to work I go so I can pay for the show...[IMG]

I swear that I am half crazy! It seems as though I am obsessed with the idea that I do this. I can not explain the motovation at all. I have estimated that the paper collection has grown from 0.00 to 8K in less than 1 year....yep crazy!

Cool note. Yep, it can be addicting. There always seems to be another note that you absolutely have to have!

LOL...thats money spent, I know it's crazy..I just cant help it.
I am determined to build the New York set from 1914 thru present $1 thru $100 denominations with 1- 1934
$500 bill in ChCu65. I have already priced it through a dealer friend at $2000.00

So far the stars (early ones have been difficult in higher grades) have been the biggest challenge.
Then the $100 notes are not so easy either with most early ones going for 4 to 5 times face!
It will be slow, but I am chugging along.

    regards,

    RickieB

Thanks BQ...I have been asking about putting together a website to display the collection. Have not started anything cuz I am not so good at that yet!
Hope to have it by this winter for the notes and the American Eagles Gold, Silver and Platinum!!

    Regards,

Try useing a CMS....that makes a nice but yet easy to do website. My site...varietynickels.com was done in one and if you want to try a test let me know as I could set that up.

RickieB - I believe what you have paid now will be worth many times more in the coming years. Go for the highest grade you can afford. You won't regret. I have some rare condition early banknotes which are now worth many times more that what I paid 20 years ago. In some of notes, there is no market value. They are only determined by an agreed price between buyer and seller.

Of Course you remember that I told you a while ago, that you have a "WORLD CLASS" NY set.

I would love to see it at an EAST COAST coin show.........

I think I can only dream seeing your collection at the Boston show. It's pretty far from Singapore unless I have four free return air ticket to Boston. :)

Meanwhile, work out something on your website to showcase your collection. :hail:

Hey, I am not kidding. As I have responded to your posts as you found this note or that note, over the last couple years or so, I really believe you have a "WORLD CLASS" collection on NY Notes worthy of sharing and display at a major East Coast show. I have never been to a big time coin show. I would make it a point to schedule my time off, just to see your notes. I don`t know how to go about displaying a major collection at a major coin show......

BTW , enlisted in 1972, USAF, Spent my term Conus, guessing you were overseas VN......

I was always told they were worthless and never saved them I'll have to look in the safe and see if one was saved.

I can give you space and software. Frankly, the easiest thing is to use VI and type straight and simple HTML.
