    Dear Friends,

Yes it arrived today, my second Geta Tetradrachm from Seleucia and Pieria, Laodice at Mare.
So this is how Geta looked before he died !!
I love this coin portrait, finally I got one !!

    Make my day....

Very nice capture! NICE piece. I really like Eagles, I love Tets, so I would grab that one any day! Rare find! Congratulations.

I only have a humble Geta Denarius...

And, I will hearken back to perhaps one of his ancestors from the Republic...???

Well, at least that's what Geta looked like to Greeks in the far flung reaches of the Empire. Handsome portrait on that coin, that's for sure, but I don't know if that's very realistic of what Gaeta looked like just before death. I've seen some Rome issues from Geta later in life that show him with a beard.

Update; @Alegandron just posted one of those bearded Geta portraits I was referring to.

That's the first type I've ever seen.....It's so stylistically different that I would have wondered if it was genuine or not.

Congrats on such an unusual and cool TET !!!!

Well, I haven't a clue what you guys are talking about. I accidentally clicked on ancients and saw a title of what I thought to be a thread about Scottish immortals :p

    Ha me too.

@Cyrrhus The coin is awesome and so is the Highlander (first one only, and several episodes of the TV show with Methos)

Methos was great. And good ole mortal Joe. Methos was one of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse! I loved the show more than the movies. I was a teenager in the 90s and always pretended I was Richie. Total Highlander geek here. Adrian Paul was much better than Christopher Lambert. The Kurgan was the best part of the movie. And don't even get me started on the crap sandwich that was Highlander 2

Sorry for the OT rant guys, back to your Monopoly money dicussions :p
