Well, I got excited for a second there...

So, just taking a look at a coin I picked up yesterday at a LCS. It's a 1952 D Jefferson Nickel with what looked like an undiscovered D/S variety...

Took some photographs. Looked at it with my 10x loupe. Pulled out the 20x loupe...and now I'm pretty sure it's the RPM-002 (D/D Rotated CW) with a lying little line of dirt inside the MM...

    Boo to you, sir, boo...

In any case, it's still a decent looking Jeff with an RPM. No full steps like this other beauty I picked up from another LCS...

(FWIW: lots going on with this nickel, either lamination errors in the planchet or die cracks galore. Largest one on the obverse starts near his jawline, up to the crown of his head and to the rim around 12:30. Also some interesting circular die polish lines on his jaw.

There is a little softness in the bottom line of steps between columns 2 and 3, and a light vertical hit to the left of column 2.)

What do you think, would this second one go FS?
