This is what spawned the "I hate you people" thread by the way, heh. You guys are so good at guessing the grade, that we might as well play that game while we're at it.

As I think I mentioned in the other thread. I never really was a big fan of the Barbers. In fact, mint Barber 25c pieces don't do anything for me. I have a Barber dime and quarter, but they are good cond., and that was fine for me. but this one...

    :: drools ::

This one :secret: to me and made me :rolling:

It's in an NTC holder by the way, so I suppose we'll go by that, though it will be interesting to see what you feel the actual grade is.

EDIT: I just realized that I cut out the background, cropped it, recolored the background, etc., and saved it a few too many times. I should go back to the original image now that I know what I want for better quality, but you get the idea.

    WOW--that is one NICE Barber!!!
It looks to me UNC...I would say maybe a MS62/3....the face is a little dark but it doesn't look like there are many marks on the head.
    The Eagle is great looking.
I have seen a few good coins from NTC and this looks like its one of them.

I might be totaly wrong with the grade...let some other guys try.

That's what my dime and quarter look like (paid a buck or so for 'em). It's what most of them seem to look like (across the denominations). I was pretty happy with the flat ones though, and might have even skipped getting the Barber Half... until I saw this.

GORGEOUS COIN !! It's easy to see why that one did the trick :thumb: And I don't even like the Barber design. I'll say the grade should go PF64

The quality of the strike and the fact that the devices are cameo ;)

WOW---now I'm seeing what you are saying....man that is a much better coin that I thought.
That is one of the few Proof Barbers that I have seen....and none it person!

Looks like you found a great deal!

GDJMSP had the good eye! It is graded PF63 (though it might be able to be bumped up to a 64, but since I collect for myself and not to sell, there's no point in getting it regraded really).

I think the cameo and the light toning make this coin look pretty good. I hadn't seen a Barber that really interested me, let alone impressed me until this one. They actually look pretty nice when you can actually see the details (the eagles on the backs of my other Barber coins look like the bird has been run over by a truck).

I was trying to find how how many were minted. According to Coinfacts.com Barber page...

    731 ???

    Maybe I'm missing something?

Well Samjimmy....I must say that you have a great coin!
That is also one of the few good coins I have seen from NTC!

You're not missing anything - that is the correct mintage number.

Cool, I like that even more. It's probably the lowest mintage coin I have now (me thinks, but I can't think of anything else I'd have that comes close to that). I generally look for the highest mintage (though not exclusively), figuring it will be less expensive to get that type.
