Good morning, wanted to share a bit of my joy this week while hunting. After searching through a gallon of loose silver i ended up only finding two nickels and a few late 60's quartersmy. My mother asks what i am looking for...... madness ensues. She mentions several shoeboxes that have gone unsearched for 25+ years. Then proceeds to show me the money. Hope you all have a good day, and happy hunting!
Don't you just love "hidden" shoeboxes? And welcome to Coin Talk! Oh wait ... you'll be busy searching those rolls for a while. Christian
I spent some time on those rolls, nothing but copper pennies with many wheaties. So as a future time capsule i put it back and told her we would wait another few years to dig into the silver box i'm patient like that. In the meantime i'm working on a few other projects. Need to get a safe of some size, any ideas?
Well my mother is a closet collector and they were hers so i didn't want to be pushy. I took a few and had a good visit with her. Now she is my new coin pal.
HAHAHA! I kinda left that door wide open! No aparently she has been hoarding ounces of old silver coins from her travels abroad. The old notes came from my late grandfather. But when she opened an old cigar box full of all kinds of odd coins my eyes lit up.
So i have something i think may be worth something..... I read the pocket change link and got curious, can anyone confirm this is a double die? The D looks a bit squished.
