    its just the US bicentenial commemoritive from 1976, all quarters, half dollars and ike dollars had a specail design for that year as it was the countries 200th anniversery.

    I sure was an excited coin loving teenager when this bicentennial run came out. We hadn’t seen any design changes in coinage in a very long time and these just fueled my numismatic fires. Even though they were minted in the billions and are quite common, it is good to see they are being noticed these days.

    I still find them in circulation. Especially at the car washes. I keep all of them that I find. The half dollars I pull aside also if they are not totally beat up.

    Those came out the year I started collecting. I remember the first one I got in change.
