my 1999 New Jersey quarter isn't the metallic silver color it should be, intsead it's almost gold in hue. http://img144.echo.cx/my.php?image=quarters2qn.png
Welcome. Most likely your coin is gold colored b/c it is gold plated. Its hard to tell without the coin in hand, but you can see the gold coloring even on the edges of coin. There are many companies that gold plate common coins and resell them in sets. Most likely, your coin came from one of these sets and made its way into circulation. If this is the case, your quarter is a fun find, but not worth much more than face value. Now, if you pulled this quarter out of a brand new roll of New Jersey quarters, you have something entirely different, and potentially worth much much more than 25 cents
