Just curious on any info. Its a 1959 unmarked penny stamped with the mason compass and ruler, only on one side. Doesn't seem magnetic at all. Can't weigh it at the moment. There's a slight pinkish shine to the metal. It's an item I found in my gpas belongings, think it's kinda cool. Is it worth anything besides sentimental? Is it plated or some other metal? Thanks for anything.

It is just a normal Copper Cent with toning that was stamped with a masonic symbol. It would not be magnetic.

Too bad they ruined that nice coin. Although some people like that kind of damage.

Honestly I thought it was weird it's stamped and made to wear on a necklace. But still a neat piece of my grandpa to wonder about. Thanks.

The hole was added and maybe has a metal ring attached. Then worn on a necklace.

If you Google Mason counterstamp coins.. you can see many types -

I had an acquaintance who retired from the US Mint, and he made a punch & counterpunch for a bunch of these........

I have seen these before. It was part of a novelty set of some sort. Wish I could remember where I saw them. The Masonic symbol is artwork added by an individual to be part of a novelty set.
