Hello- I am not very familiar with different kinds of mint errors, but I came upon this weird 1980 dime which has absolutely no trace of reeding on its edge. It doesn’t appear that the edge has worn smooth, it looks as if there has never been any reeding at all on the coin. Also, the edge also is disproportionately thick compared the the rest of the planchette. Is this some kind of minting error, or just some weird uneven wear? Thanks.

Spooning. Someone has tapped a spoon on the edge obliterating the reeding.

Like @Spark1951 said, it's been "spooned". The reeded edge is created when a coin is struck, so this had to have happened after it left the mint.
