I've read multiple times here that Ebay is a rip off site. And I can definitely agree. I'm sure most of you (from the US at least) have heard of Goodwill Industries. Well, they have a website somewhat like Ebay where they auction off things of value. From musical instruments to toys to.. you guessed it. Coins I'm not sure if we can post direct links here, so I won't risk it. But if you're curious to check it out, search for "coins" or "coin collection". Below is an example of what they have. The bad thing is that they don't have very clear pictures, but often times have collections like this for super cheap. Hope this was allowed, I just want to share this site with you guys! If you happen to win an auction, post a list of what you won! Good luck. PS. To clarify, I am not associated with Goodwill is any way. (Just thought I'd throw that out there )
Nothing is ever buy it now, so if you haven't seen a good price, it's because a handful of people had their eye on the item. Try again sometime. I have gotten a few things off of the site.
Because of your post, I registered with the site yesterday. Thought I'd check it out from time to time. Never know when or where or what is going to pop up unexpectedly in this hobby.
Hmm ebay is hardly a ripoff site, the buyer has to do his due diligence before any purchases. Yea i have goodwill next to me never realized they have website with auction will check that out good call.
If that photo is indicative of what that site you speak of has to offer, that's no different than the same listings on eBay of large lots of coins, mostly advertised as unsearched. Goodwill does not have price busting bargains on anything they sell, either.
I think what condor is saying, that the prices being bid up to, are no bargain. He's correct on that too.
Ebay provides a service and people use it, but they don't sell anything directly so ebay can't be a ripoff site. Now, one could say some of the sellers on the site are ripoff sellers.
